UPDATE 7/22/2011: There is an app called "Android Assistant" that works great, try this app.
Ok first to start off, I am not best at making posts or explaining things :icon_eek:, but anyway here's what I have tried on the following phones and have seen better battery life and make your phone faster.
Motorola Droid 1
Motorola Droid 2
Motorola Droid X
HTC Thunderbolt
Huawei Ascend
Samsung Intercept
Anyway, here's my advice:
1.) Don't junk your phone up with a bunch of random apps. Apps seem to run in the background and drain a lot of battery, also slow your phone down.
2.) Turn your 3g/4g off in the background. I recommend using an app called Green Power FREE Battery Saver. Change the settings to turn data off when the screen is turned off, and to turn on when the screen is turned on/unlocked.
3.) Some people don't like using task killers, but there is one I have had no problems with, and that is Automatic Task Killer. Simply star all the apps you want to kill in the background and un-star apps to keep them constantly running. (If this doesn't help with battery or RAM, try checking the box for "Enable Froyo Patch".
4.) Do a battery pull every once in awhile, like every other day.
I hope this helps with anybody who is looking for advice. Please add any more tips you have.
