I've been a Verizon customer for numerous years but have held off getting a smartphone until I saw the Droid. I considered the Blackberry and the Palm Pre, but they fall incredibly short on functionality compared to what this amazing piece of technology can do. I will pick up my new Droid at the local Verizon Store on Jan. 12 2010 and am anxious to begin playing with it in what I'm sure will be a decade of phenomenal development in smartphones. I retired from science education and now work part time as a med tech in an "ahead of the curve" paperless practice where everything is done on wireless laptops. I love technology and can't wait to see what apps I might download for fun and maybe for work related purposes as well. Thanks for offering such a great forum to Droid users.
