My First Droid, My First Thread! WOW!

I got a new Droid RAZR M a month ago today and am still finding new things it can and can't do. But one of the things that bugs me most is that I have to re-set the display sleep settings EVERY day. Isn't there a fix for this?

I am used to things being a SET way, you program it and it stays until you re-program it another way. 25 years in the Marine Corps, I am NOT flexible anymore....

I set it to Sleep after 5 minutes of inactivity and it goes back to 1 minute, I set it to 10 minutes and it goes back to 1 minute, it always goes back to 1 minute.


Someone please HELP?!?!?!?!?! a newbie out here.

Welcome to the board.

That's odd, it should stay to your preferred setting. Try changing the setting and once you do that restart the phone and see if it stays the same.

I personally use a 15sec timeout and use Screebl. Screebl keeps the display on as long as it's within the set parameters and will stay on until it's outside the "keep screen on" parameters or if there is no activity within a set amount of time. In the long run, it saves me more battery. Just a tip, but I'd definitely try changing your preferred setting, restarting, and see if it stays first.

As for your issue...my suggestion would be to factory reset your device (this will erase everything from your device and start again as if it was right out of the box)...hopefully someone else has a better idea so you can possibly avoid the FDR ...

im wondering if you installed any battery saving apps or similar and it keeps kicking it back to 1 minute to do its job.
