Hello All,

Obviously, I'm a newbie and enjoying my "first day of school" so to speak. I have a Droid 2 that I'm really enjoying, but now and then there's something to overcome, so I'm here to learn.

I don't feel like filling up a page with too much stuff, but I'll mention a few things: I'm a bookkeeper in a non-profit organization that cares for the poor in my town. It's great work, and can be extremely uplifting, or put us all in the depths of despair. I'm a grandma realize now that my life is one big cliche. How disappointing.I have a snarky way about me and everyone tells me I'm hysterically funny. But I can't see this as a forum for my humor. But, who knows?

My main issue right now is trying to get the call volume turned up beyond the "loudest" setting. I'm not hard of hearing, but I'm struggling hearing people's calls--not the ring tones, that's just fine. I can't always put it on speaker--that works, but is very disruptive to those around me. I've played around with settings to no avail, and other sites don't seem helpful in solving this issue. Any ideas? I'll check the FAQs, and searching the site, too.

Thanks! Nice to meet you!

:welcome:

when in a call, use the side volume buttons to change the in-call volume. hope that helps

Welcome to the forums. I wish I could help you with the call volume but that's something i've never messed with, but someone may be by who can help. In any case, enjoy your stay and don't be afraid to ask questions; that's what were here for.

Update on volume control

I should explain further what I've done to increase the volume control on calls: I've used the side buttons to increase the volume when I'm on a call--I'm at the maximum, but it's still not loud enough. I've gone into "settings" and tried to increase the volume there, but the only choices I have are media volume and ringer volume (or putting the phone on vibrate). I'd say those are the standard ways. I've tried them, but it's not doing the trick. Any ideas on how to increase the call volume?

That's the only way I know of to increase the volume. Sorry
You could use the speaker phone and turn the volume up on that the same way you did with the normal in call volume.

Welcome! I have a rooted Droid and interestingly when I receive a phone call the volume is so high that, often, I hold the phone away from my ear.

Rooted Droid?

What's a rooted Droid? How do I root mine so I can hear the voices of people who call me? Is this my wake up call that I really am deaf (although I seem to be able to hear conversations four doors away without even trying....) Hope it doesn't involve planting it in the ground...
