Hi all!

So I finally decided to get a smart phone. I'm not much of a texter, but the idea of being able to have google maps, the internet and such on the go won me over to finally getting a smart phone ^^

So then...can anyone point me to any reading I should be doing on apps and such?

Well, you're in the right spot. Just read the threads here.

You're starting out with the best, but don't set your expectations too high. Droid does, but it doesn't every once in a while. One of the things for example that it doesn't do that your dumb phone did is bluetooth voice commands. There are some apps and even products that can get around this.

Some apps i would recommend you start with are Astro File Manager, Handcent, Backgrounds, Ringdroid, Seesmic (for twitter).

There are tons of good info in the forum. Just look around.:)
