My Speaker Died After 8 months of use

Yesterday the speaker on my Razr stopped functioning completely. I thought it was a software error which led me to do a soft reset and wipe the phone's cache, but nothing worked. I called VZW(troll) and got a replacement(although it'll be preowned -__-) since I'm still under the manufacturer's warranty. Anyone else experience this type of malfunction?

Its actually a known issue.. running your finger over the speaker (pressing slightly) will sometimes make it kick in.

That sounds plausible and I tried something similar to that, but to no avail, I'm still ringless.

You tried rebooting? Sometimes an app like speaker cleaner will get it too kick in.. but not always... its depressing

Yeah I did just about everything I knew they would ask me to do over the phone.

Yes I have this problem now!!! Lol I thought it was cause I dropped it down the stairs. Probably not though because I have the heavy duty otter box on here..I'm going to try that speaker cleaner app

I get it to kick on by going onto settings, volume, and I adjust my ringtone volume, and it kicks on.. the speaker cleaner app does it too. Its definitely software in this issue... because my phone didn't have this issue on gb.
