Nandroid names?

My wife finally let me root her eris tonight. Can I rename the nandroid backups like I can on my droid? I see there isnt an option to name them when you make the backup, but is there any harm in renaming them after they are made?

Not sure. Are you using SPRecovery? If so, I would think that you can.

Not sure about SPRecovery nandroids but I rename all of my CW backups in RM so I know what the H@#! they are. No problems so far.

No, its not SPRecovery or CW. Its Amon_Ra flashed to the Eris.

Ok, I answered my own question.
How to backup or recover via Nandroid - XDA-Developers

Step 7. Select the backup you made earlier should look like BDS-<DATE>-<TIME>, you can also safely rename the backups using an app like Astro File manager, Root Explorer, or by using your computer with the SD card mounted.

That is a new one for me. Boot into it and make a backup and see if it allows you to name or if it assigns a name. Let us know.
