Nandroid restore to a different rom?

I was just wondering, if I can do a nandroid restore back to liberty .9, if I install the MIUI rom or vise versa

Miui is a 2nd init rom and runs on froyo kernal. So you can't just restore a backup. You'll have to sbf back to froyo then install miui. .596/.602 GB roms are not compatible with 2nd init roms running off froyo.
