Need a bit of help...

Okay, I'm not a total newbie on this stuff, but, I haven't upgraded my phone in about a year (right after the Bionic came out) and I want to get up to date on the latest ROMs that are out there.

So, I have Bionic Bootstrap on my phone, and I'm running the Theory ROM. (Oh, and it's 2.3.4 on my phone as well)

Can I get a step-by-step idiot instruction to get Eclipse on my phone?

I know I need Safestrap, and I actually installed it, then un-stalled it, because I realized I didn't have the stock w/root ROM that I'd need for "unsafe" or whatever it is that I need.

So, basically, can I get from you kind folks a set of instructions with links to required ROMS (if necessary, like a "back to factory set"), to get me on the path to moderning up my phone with the latest and greatest?

I apologize in advance, but I had to look up acronyms just to realize how far behind I was. FXZ (factory boot recovery), ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) etc..

But first you need to be on latest official build which is 246. Uninstall bootstrap and go into settings and check for updates. If that fails to update you then fxz to 246 using rsd lite:

And after you are succesfully on 246 install safe strap 3.05 and use it to flash roms:

Update - Okay, tried the first method - didn't work. However, the RSD Lite one did! - So, now I'm to ICS and it even restored my 4G access which I haven't seen in about six months.

Now, I imagine I have to root the phone to use Safestrap?

I downloaded and installed it, but every time I try to run it I get the following error:

"Unfortunately, Safestrap has stopped."

I'm using the 3.04 V downloaded from the above mentioned site.

And Android 4.04 looks great!

Yep, your phone needs to be rooted for Safestrap.

Razr's Edge is the name of the one-click tool you'll need to get your phone rooted.

Thanks guys, will give it a go - oh, and I got the lapdock from Amazon for $70 bucks for this thing.. it's amazing! (just thought I'd share! )

Good deal. Hope your lap dock works. I bought one for $70 from amazon and it didn't work. Good luck.
