Need Friendfeed.apk for Droid 2

Could I get someone to post the apk and odex files for Friendfeed? I deleted the app without properly backing it up and would like to put it back on the phone for future use.

Thank you in advance!

I am running 2.2 with the latest OTA update (2.3.20.A955)

Go to the droid 2 hacks section in this forum and in there is a sticky that says droid 2 system apps. there you can download a full copy of every apk and odex file that came stock on your d2.dancedroid

Thanks! I got the files, but now when I try to install the APK I get the error "Application not installed". Any thoughts as to what might cause this?

What are you using to install the apps? You should be using the file manager that came on your phone.

I am using Root Explorer. I copied the apk and the odex files to my sd card. I then copied the two files to system/app, I then mounted system/app as r/w and try to install the apk, this is when I get the error.

I finally got it figured out!

After more research and playing around with the phone and files I finally figured out what I was doing wrong.

1. I had the wrong files.
2. Was trying to install the app once I moved it to system/app.

All I needed to do was put the correct files in system/app, set permissions and then reboot the phone. Application is now back on the phone.

Thanks for all the help!

Could you be a tiny bit more descriptive? I've been playing around with my new D2Global this evening and I wiped out Social Networking / FriendFeed.apk. I don't really want it back, but I want to know I *could* bring it back... and so far I can't.

I've downloaded the APK and ODEX for FriendFeed from a system/app 2.2 collection... placed them in system/app... changed the permissions to rw-r--r--... rebooted the phone... and I still don't see "Social Networking" back. What'd I miss?

I was just getting ready to post - Make sure you are using the correct file versions! LOL

Glad you figured it out. I didn't really care that the app was gone, have no intentions of using it, but I wanted to be able to restore it if I wanted to.

Two tools that I highly recommend if you don't have em yet - Titanium Backup and Root Explorer, they make life so much easier!
