Well, I updated my phone to gingerbread this morning and lost my superuser.
I tried gingerbreak and that failed. Anyone has anymore suggestions as to what app I can try to root my DX?
Thanks

It's not rooted yet.....

Well, there ya go.........

I've recently downloaded and tried the z4root app. Does this app appear to hang for a long period of time. Im not sure if it is working correctly on my phone. I used to be rooted but I lost it after upgrading to gingerbread. I used super one click the first time.

It didn't work on mine... only thing it did was piss me off lol either way the two step way would be easy. Im gonna wait for the app to update the exploit. Im in no rush to root right now.

Z4Root does NOT work on 2.3.3...it only works on 2.2.1...not even Gingerbreak will root this new update.

Again, there is curruntly NO one click method to root gingerbread. I guarantee that when one is available you will see a flood of posts about it.

If you want root you have 2 options:

Option 1 sbf back to froyo and then install the 2 part .596 rooted files from tbh or mydroidworld.com

Option 2 sbf back to froyo and install the previous leaked versions until you get to .596.

I would go with option 1 as its a bit faster and the end result is the same.

My wife's phone somehow accepted & installed the official Verizon GB OTA last night.
If I were to sbf back to froyo, botch the upgrade using the TBH method, would the phone still be able to grab the official OTA GB from Verizons server via System Update?

Not sure on that. I would think so because all you would need to do is sbf and you could get the update. Your other option is to keep the update and hope it gets rooted sometime soon.

Droid 2 liberated gingerbread v0.5

Cool, Thx for your input. I would think it would be able to but stranger things have happened with Moto & Verizon
