need help moto droid

I have a moto droid tat I rooted about 2months ago. I am running bugles beast v0.4, using launcher pro. Since I rooted my phone the speaker has sounded like poo when I listen to music. Well now that the official update is out it kept asking to update the system. Out of hast on the sum hundredth time after being prompted to up date I clicked it not meaning to. I only saw the phone reboot, and it still runs the bugles beast with launcher pro but new after a few weeks it is running the stock launcher and I can not power up in the recovery mode. I have loaded switcher home so I can get into the launcher pro but it keeps going back to the stock launcher. I want to set launcher pro as default but nothing will let me. I also want to get into my recovery mode. Please help. On the plus side the speaker sounds good again.

i'm not rooted so the recovery question not sure on, but the launcherpro issue, if you go into home switcher, should give you an option to check box, set as default? does on my d1...

Yes switcher gives me the opption to set as default but switcher is not supported on 2.2 so it deas not set it as my default. LAME....

Home switcher is the only way I can access launcher pro. But it will not let me set it as default, this is the issue. I have done a reset, I have tried to reroot my phone, even tried installing a new rom. I believe I could fix the issue if I could get into recovery but the phone will not let meboot into recovery or even safe mode. Any other ideas?
