Need Help: Voice Search Lag

I bought the droid 2 days ago...yesterday and the day before i would hit the search microphone button then talk into it and the droid would recognize my voice as I talked then the website or call would pop right up....As of last night and this morning I hit the search microphone button and it takes 15 to 20 seconds to recognize that I say something then it searches and comes up...


Anyone know what could be wrong...I have about 15 applications is that too many?

It sounds like you have something else using up processor cycles. Check your battery utilization and see if any of your apps have unexpectedly high power drain.

in the last hour and a half android system has used 58%, display has used 25%, phone idle 7%, cell standby 6%, browser 2%, voice search 2%, android os 2%....

Does that look right?

No it doesn't look right. You're display should generally be the highest usage almost always, if not always.

Power cycle your device. Turn it off. Turn it on. If that doesn't help then power off the device, take off the battery cover, remove the battery, wait a minute, put the battery back in and power up the device.
