need original bootanimation files

Been trying to update with the new OTA. had been running the 928Droid Black Glass 2315...Anyway..used their file to return to the Odexed stock. I can download the update fine, but when it tries to installs, it aborts and keeps failing...All the bloatware is there...Still rooted...ONLY thing I can find different is the bootanimation files (.zip in system/media and another bootanimation file in system/bin). I had previously installed the Tranquility ROM and it changed these files..Now no way to get back to the original stock versions of these files....
Its the only files I can think of that are different or changed..

Can anyone post or email me the files??

Thanks!

I think im having the same problem. Cant update and I never removed anything. I even had a back up from when i first rooted but still no luck. Only thing i can think of is the boot animation changer i used to change the "M" logo. Any ideas would be great.

That sure is a lot of work to get an OTA with little benefit. Did either of you make a backup before changing anything (rooted stock)?

I have a stock rooted backup and it wont work. The update isnt that inportant i know but im looking ahead to gingerbread when it comes out. Can i just apply sbf zip to my sd card and run it. that seemed to work on my D1.

Possibly but I've never done it so don't quote me on that. I was thinking that the files you may be missing could be in your backup and could be pulled from there and pushed to what you're running now. Of course, we could possibly have a leaked GB before it's released OTA too. We had Froyo on the D1 a few months before it rolled out to non-rooted users. Of course, I realize things have changed a lot since then too though.

I have an old backup, but how do I pull just the one or two files out i need?? The backup is on my SD (a nandroid or a clockwork mod backup, I think)

-Connect your phone to PC and select USB mass storage.

-Move your backup from root of SD card to desktop of PC. Or the backup file may be in your Clockwork Mod folder, still move to desktop.

-Create a folder and name it.

-Right click your .zip file (backup) and click "extract files..." to the folder you created.

-After it's done extracting, click on folder, click system, click media and there is your bootanimation.zip file:)

The file is a .img file..do I just rename it zip so I can open it?

Well damn....I wish I had seen this before I went running up more threads. I'm in the same boat. I haven't had a chance to see if I can pull out the original boot animation...

So,, I did run 928's back to stock, renamed everything back to apk in root explorer. I looked side by side to another stock DX and it looks like I have all my stock apps. I wish there was a simple list of what ota 2.2 apps there was so I can bounce against that instead, but whatever.

I tried to restore my bloated nandroid and it gave me this MD5 fail? So, now I am starting to scratch my head.
