Need some advice

about a month ago I popped my droid 1 cherry.. sucks! Well it didnt get too messed up; there are a few scratches, the slider is a little loose, but still very stable and there is a small crack on the screen way in the corner on the back button side - but it doesnt affect anything. These things dont really bother me so much as since I dropped it it seems to be slower and seemingly I have to push harder on the buttons.

Well I have been debating on putting in an insurance claim for a droid 2 (i understand no droid 1's are left and I need the external keyboard-so id request the 2).. Oonly thing I am worried about is getting a refurbished 2 that turns out to be worse than my busted up 1.. although I am thinking the 2's just came out, and how many refurbished 2's could they have.. I think theyd all be new.

What do you think I should do?

There are Droid 1s available. That is most likely what you will get.

Who told you there were no Droid 1"s left? People turn them in for warranty repair and insurance claims all the times. Those are turned into refurbs. And that, is likely what you will get.

You can't put in an insurance claim and expect to get a better product. That has happened sometimes, but I don't believe that's an issue at this time. And then to be worried if you're getting a refurb on a D2? Do you think you are entitled to a new D2? Doesn't work that way.

no need for the attitude guy..was simply looking for some advice.. a few months back they were running out of droid 1, remember..

Anyways, so do you think it would be worth it to then get a refurbished ONE?

Sorry if I seemed to have attitude. Wasn't my intent, I was really trying to lower your expectations down.

My belief is most of the people who get refurbs, despite all the bad stuff you here in here and on the internet, get good ones. So yes, if you have an issue and you pay insurance get the refurb. If there is an issue with it send it back and get another. You will get one that works.

Sounds good.. I wasnt sure if refurbs were complete peices of crap or not. I guess thats what ill have to do.. Thanks for the advice.

I received a refurb and it was a great experience. It honestly looked brand new......... Hope this helps and good luck on your exchange.
