Just got the MAXX...used to have the iPhone 4s and its horrendous battery life and dumbing down of a phone. Took the Apple Fan Boy glasses off and have seen the Light!! :)
Wanna get this lap dock but wanted know if folks have hooked up the MAXX with no cables (or minimum of cables)
..and your opinion of this setup...I have unlimited data and would like to get rid of my (Vz 4G LTE 32gb) iPad if i can save some loot doing so???! Thx for your help...

I know of at least one thread somewhere that describes a minor surgery with a Dremmel tool and the RAZR fit the Bionic cradle (not sure if it was the RAZR or MAXX, but considering the phone thickness, it was probably the MAXX), and worked like a dream.

I'm using the bionic lapdock with a razr, just had to perform minor surgery to the lapdock with a dremmel tool ( like FoxKat said ) and it's working pretty good.

+1 ^

Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent ICS Tapatalk 2 with Google voice to text translation. Please excuse any minor spelling, punctuation, capitalization or grammatical errors.

I also performed the minor surgery on my Bionic Lapdock and my MAXX works great with it. But I will say I haven't noticed any battery drain or anything called evbridge. I checked the battery usage monitor and it doesn't show up.

...ok..thx iolks.
I was thinking last night that maybe a lap dock 100 would be a better move over the Bionic...no?... I do know that batt life on 100 is 5 hrs. & on the bionic LD its 8-10...but besides that any other advantages with the 100?
thx again [ so glad to see a thread and site dedicated to us]

Beyond the fact that it's designed to work with the RAZR out of the box, I don't know that there are really any advantages. The larger 500 is the only lapdock that really stands out from the rest with features.

Thanks..
I do have a dremel tool ..so adapting the Bionic may be the way to go here..
[so sorry i missed the $49.97 VZ deal on the Bionic LD]

I would stay away from any lap dock right now. They are causing battery drain issues on the razr. Read the following thread and links inside the thread. Motorola is aware that it is a major problem since the last update.

uh,,, I use the power supply that came woth the lapdock and it "charges" the phone while you use it. I have both the maxx and the Bionic ,, and the lapdocs are cant be used with your choice... the connections are different..

Ohhhh...i thought guys were using their Maxxs in the Bionic dock w/ no problems...just a lil dremmeling is necessary so it sits in the holder behind the screen???
I guess i will be forced to get the Lapdock 100, or 500 then???!!!!...darn...!

I am using my MAXX in the Bionic Lapdock, works and charges just fine with no issues. I had to remove some of the plastic around the HDMI and USB pegs so the MAXX would seat nicely.
