Negative dollar amounts?

Has anyone else noticed that some apps are showing as $-5.99? What does the negative sign mean?

Its not a negative sign. Its ~, which means approximately. This is used because the original amount was in another currency other then US. In a recent update android set it to where it shows about how much it would be in US dollars so people don't have to convert.
