New Droid Syncing Question

Hey guys I just got my new droid after my last one broke and I have all my contacts on gmail, but I want them on my droid without having my droid sync to gmail and erasing all contacts online.

Like I want the contacts pushed from online to my droid and not from my empty new droid, to online, which would erase online...

When you setup the Droid, it should have asked for your email address. Entering it will not "erase" your contacts online. It will "sync" them together and add them to your phone.

For instance, when I got my Droid a few days ago, I synced to Gmail and it added all my Google contacts to my phone. No muss, no fuss.
