Now is a good time to try a new launcher. One of the top 5 launchers available has just received a major overhaul. If you have been running Apex and Nova you may want to give Go launcher Ex a try. Not only has it just received a list of all new features and a whole new look, the Prime version is now FREE until June 1.

Version 5 includes the following new features:
-New Flat UI desigh
-Full Screen Folder With Smart Card
-New Go Pannels
-Long Press home screen for menu
-ability to redesign menu and sub-module
-simplify the app drawer for more space

This is a pretty big update which adds lots of features to the already long list of features. In fact this must be one of the most feature rich launchers around. For a limited time you can get the Prime version for free by using "appsales" activation code within the launcher settings.

Via Play Store

Right, as was mentioned in the article.

So it was only free for a day? The post was on the 31 greatest and today is the 1 st.

The problem with these launchers is that they add so many features, that they get even more laggy and have more menus and take longer to navigate and set up than the stock skins from the manufacturers do.

I found a few articles on the web that say that the offer is from May 30 through June 1, but one of the articles says that you have to be a new user of GoLauncher to be able to get the deal. If you've never had it before, install the current verion of GoLauncher EX then open it and go to Preferences > About GO Launcher EX > Enter Activation code "appsales" or "appszoom."
For anyone who misses this deal, keep an eye on it, because they offer this about every couple of months. I got mine a while back on the same kind of offer.

I know what you mean. I don't have any lag with it, but all the choices are overwhelming sometimes. Still, very cool!

I will respectfully disagree.

While all the features may be overwhelming, and I don't use about 30% of them, it actually enhances my phone and user experience, while adding no lag whatsoever.

Plus, it adds some features that I have used for some time now that I can't live without. Hard to switch to another launcher app because most don't offer the features that GO Launcher does.

One issue is that none of the launchers support LG's knock-on/off feature. The issue is that there is a bug in the VZW OTA KK release that hangs up your phone call if you hit the power button. Even when you go into the settings and disable it, a lot of us still have it doing it. So when you use another launcher, that LG feature doesn't work and whenever you are on the phone there is no way to turn the screen on or off, because hitting the power button hangs up the call, and the tap on/off doesn't work...

Go Launcher is just so much slower than Nova Prime, can anyone give me a reason why Go would be better?

I have yet to play around with Nova even though I have it installed. I have noticed lag on my Note 3 for the very first time after the Go update. Keep hearing good things about Nova so it might be time to try it finally.

I broke down and installed Nova, and I've been a Go Launcher user for as long as it has been out.

While I must say that I miss some features from Go Launcher, Nova is not a bad launcher. It has added a lot of features it was missing some months ago, that kept pushing me away. However, I'm not a huge fan that I have to pay for the same features I get for free from Go Launcher. And before you all sound off...yes, I know developers work hard, and I know that $4 isn't much to upgrade to prime, and that the work the devs put in is worth it. I'm just saying that, for principle, Go offers more free features you have to pay for on Nova. And Go prime offers tons more features than Nova prime.

I can't necessarily say that Nova is better, but I don't mind the change.
