New market wont download apps

Sometimes when I touch download and then accept and install in the new market, it says starting download, but never downloads it. I went to "my alps" in the market and it showed the app that I wanted and it said downloading, but it was just showing diagonal grey bars going across the progress bar like it was beginning... but it has been like that for a whole day. Please help.

Been having problems with mine too. I got both my market updates from early APK downloads. I have been having 4-7 usual apps showing up daily as having updates available but when you go into then there is no Update option, just Open. I can update them from the outside by updating them all at once, but I'm not sure if there's actual updates for them.
