New member and also new to smartphones

Hi everybody, I'm Melissa. So I am a new smartphone user, previously was using the Samsung Integrity and in September I decided to stop with the pre-pay thing and started a contract. I fell in love with my Ally. I have had it for 6 months and am thinking about going with another smartphone and giving my husband this Ally since he still has a flip phone from 2002, it's a dinosaur and everyday I seem to be showing him something new I found my LG Ally can do. My husband and I decided we will pick me up a phone I like and give him my Ally. I don't know things like rooting, etc. I'm still learning about smartphones. I know I will be asking tons of things on the forums here and I apologize in advance if some of my questions sound ridiculous. But bare with me and keep in mind this is my first experience with a phone like this and I'm looking to see what phone I should look into as a step above my Ally. Thank you for this site and these forums. I look forward to chatting with some of you soon

:welcome: to the Droid Forums. I would say either an X or a DG2. I would stay away from the Thunderbolt. Seems like a great phone but it has some major battery issues.
