Joined up on this forum to try and learn more about my Droid A855. I don't feel that I'm getting much out of it as I should, especially when compared to some folks that have Iphones. But, I don't want to spend a fortune in buying a ton of apps. I do search in the marketplace, but after a while, I just get burned out in searching.

So, hoping recommendations on here might steer me in the right direction. One of the things I want to explore is using my device as a mp3 player, but not paying for the music. Am I walking a fine line?

Pandora radio (radio pick an artist it will play stuff in that line)
I music, music junk, mp3 download all free music apps
you can install your own music on it

this phone will do most anything ipone will plus some (facebook apps pretty much sucks but other than that)

do a search on forums for apps they will lead you in right directions

Welcome to forums and enjoy your droid

Appreciate the examples and what to search for.

I feel your pain on the facebook. Have had a few freezes and while in a bar meeting a girl on Friday night, it was so easy on her phone to search and add me, but on my phone, don't get me started.

Oh, one other thing, what type of software (preferably free) can I get to upload videos on my laptop, since I can't play 'em using windows media player.

:welcome: to the Droid Forum. You can listen to music for free by downloading Pandora or Slacker radio. You can even design favorites to listen to on a regular basis. However as far as free MP3s the only way to obtain those are generally illegal. .We prefer that those type of conversations are avoided in this forum. So.lets avoid going there.

Welcome to the neighborhood grfd711! As with everything else, the best thing you can do is read, read, and then read some more. Start with the FAQs and then move on to whatever sparks your interest in the threads - you'll be amazed at just how much you can teach yourself! Here's one of my favorite threads for app suggestions and explanations:

Forget the top 5, list ALL of your apps

Enjoy that new toy of yours! :icon_ banana:
