Hi all

Just bought our first smartphone, the Incredible x2 and I haven't really gotten into setting it all up yet. My wife will use it mainly but I have to admit I am jealous and may get one for myself.

I'm pretty pc savy and love electronics, so hopefully I won't be asking too many questions of you guys, but it's nice to have a place to come to for the answers. Looks like a great site you have here.

Welcome to the world of Android...my suggestion is looking in the Droid incredible forum for tips, they might even have a whole separate forum for the incredible 2...also, if you feel comfortable with it, rooting the phone can help with many little issues and slowdowns...however be sure to read about what rooting is and does first...
A few major rooting points-
1. you will be able to remove those pesky pre-installed bloatware apps you couldn't before (they tend to like just running whenever and using up phone resources and battery)
2. You can get a whole new level of customization that would be impossible before rooting
3. The negative point- rooting technically voids manufacturer warranty, however it is fairly easy to unroot and return to stock if needed and they won't be able to tell the difference

Feel free to ask any questions if needed and enjoy your new phone :)

Edit: I looked and the Droid incredible 2 can't really be rooted yet, however it will be available soon I'm sure, again use only if you know what you're doing :)

Welcome to the site. The Incredible 2 has successfully been rooted, but you have to buy a device to root it, or wait until the Windows based OS root program gets the bugs worked out of it. Right now, Linux is the only OS you can use to root the Incredible 2 with.

Root is awesome.
