New memory stick and can't recover apps that were saved on it PLEASE HELP

Well I managed to get a good deal on a 64gb sandisk memory stick for 35 bucks. I managed to back up all my stuff saved on my old 16gb memory stick and I was able to transfer everything EXCEPT the .android_secure folder which includes all the memory for my apps on the sd card. When I tried copying it to the new stick on my phone I get a message saying that it can't be moved or the operation has stopped or something like that. I tried making a new folder called .android_secure on my new memory stick but it wouldn't let me. Does anybody know how I can recover all my apps? I'm pretty sure there's an easy solution around this.
Thanks

That folder is blank on my phone, even though I've moved a number of apps to my SD card (really, parts of a number of apps).

Have you checked to make sure there are files in that folder?

That said, why would you want to move that folder (instead of letting the new phone create it)?
