I just downloaded the new OS, i think. Not sure what it was but it made my phone look differently.
It worked super fast before. But now, every time I browse the internet, it crashes. Every time i push home key twice on accident the Voice command prompt crashes. Texting crashes sometimes. When I send a message, the text I send doesnt show up right away and it crashes never actually being sent. Some of my texts are not sending. They have a green arrow to the left that ive never seen before. But im assuming it means its still being sent.

The notification bar pulldown menu is gone. I get an email and dont know I have one if its on silent.

is this a joke? am i doing something wrong? I've battery pulled three times today and its helped send a text and browse the web before crashing. it is nonfunctional. What did i do? What can i do to go back to the previous version or make this one work?

Its so sad how slow my phone is now, that it cant even text or browse properly. Didn't even try to tether or play music. Too afraid it will crash.

version 2.3.3 4.5.601

am i just dumb? dont even know how new it is

Can you tell us what phone you have so I can move you to the correct forum?

Ok, moving! We will get you to the right section, and hopefully someone can chime in for you.

Have you tried to do a factory reset on it? I recall reading that doing a factory reset alongside an OS update will often give you the best results. Might be some Froyo ghosts haunting your phone here.

I had a similar problem, and exceptionally short battery life (17 hours or less on a full charge on a brand new long life battery).
The Verizon store couldn't figure out why my battery life was so bad so they suggested a reset.
It seems to be working better now, and the battery life has improved, but I am not impressed with it, it is still no better than the original battery was before the upgrade.
Just make sure ALL of you data is backed up somewhere. I lost my entire B-Folders database (I thought it saved to the SD card, but I was wrong).
Does anybody else have battery life issues with the update? All of the non D2 apps were wiped out, and I have only restored a few of them, so things like the Go weather app are not running all the time and updating information every hour. I am not getting any better life than I did with the factory battery, and I am running a long life battery now.

I had issues with the battery life only lasting about 6-8 hours wheer prior I could get an easy 14. I called Verizon and explained I had already tried to do a power reset, update the latest battery saver (Juice Defender for me) and it was still bad. My wife and I have the exact phones and hers was doing the same. Without even a discussion, they provided 2 batteries to us. They said that would solve our issues. Unfortunately since last weekend, our phones have gone to a crawl. Its very frustrating. I love the new features, but doesn't anyone test these? After reading online, I find I'm not alone and there are a lot of people experiencing the exact same problems. I will try a factory reset after I back up all of my info. Any help is appreciated.

You can try the following, which should calibrate your battery. You can safely skip step #2, as it's only useful to rooted users.

Your best bet is a factory reset after any major update. You can consider any update that changes the UI a major update.

Ok, ive had many of these same issues with my droid 2 since thhis new ui update..i want to do a factory reset, or sbf....ive searched a bit through the forum, but because of the update, it keeps crashing before i can pick through all the info. So, hopefully someone can help. First, how do i back up my phone? Im new to the phone game, but i thought all my stuff was backed up via my google acct? Next, how do i do an sbf?
