I'm totally stoked about all the new dual-core LTE capable phones coming out, but so far i've not heard about ANY with a slide-out keyboard like the current Droid1/Droid2? Does anyone know about one??

Motorola droid Mobile phone has the capabilities of internet and multimedia and other features like Wi-fi Networking , 5 mega pixel digital camera . i think its a best smartphone of new era.

Yup, the Droid was great when it was new, and the droid 2 was nice as well, but its time for some new phones with better specs (and a keyboard!). Thats that i'm interested in.

haven't heard of any devices coming out with a keyboard, but they all look pretty good to me.

Makes me wonder if the physical keyboard is being phased out...

Mass. Hysteria.

Never buying smartphone ever again if no hard keyboard

I would certainly hope they aren't trying to phase it out. Don't get me wrong, I love touch screen for a lot of things, but having the versatility of a physical KB and a touch screen just gives you more options!

I always thought I would miss the physical keyboard when going from a droid to a fascinate. Then I used swype for a little bit and that was that. Typing on a small physical keyboard would feel weird and slow now.

Just my opinion

Also the physical keyboard adds weight and thickness to a phone which would be a major drawback especially with a 4.3" screen. I don't see it happening

the D3 is coming out in the next few months. the initial leaked/rumored specs are: 4" screen (increased from current 3.7"), dual core, more ram, and improved keyboard (the increased screen size, alone, would allow for a better pkb) - essentially the same/similar specs to the Bionic, but with a pkb. no word/rumor yet on whether it will be LTE. it was initially thought that it might release in Q2, but now the general thought is that it will be released in the summer as a competitor to the iP5. if that is what it is designed to compete against, i would hope it would be LTE. on the other hand, i don't see Moto releasing a direct competitor to its own Bionic so soon.

there has also been rumors floating around for several months of a new Moto phone code named Solana. it is also rumored to have a pkb. whether the Solana is still in the works or not is unknown - i haven't seen any more rumors about it in a while.

I used the keyboard on the D1 alot when i first got it but after time i noticed i would hardly ever use it with the swype.apk installed. That is why i am now somewhat happy today with the Droid X. I said "somewhat" because of the latest and greatest coming out. Would love a Bionic. Actually wish Moto would come out with a phone the size of the Dell Streak. Something with a 5 to 6 inch screen.

I had heard mention of the Moto Droid 3, which is currently my only hope, lol! like you said, I also hadn't heard about weather it was going to have LTE capabilities, but I really hope so. Its nice to hear that they will increase the screen size though.

I haven't about the "Solana" yet, but generally the rumors turn into something visable sooner then later, so i'll keep my eyes peeled for that name...

Long live the physical KB!:motdroidhoriz:

Swipe is a nice addition to have. I like to use it when I only have one hand available to text, but it still can't qite fill the shoes of a Physical KB.

I can hold the phone in one hand and turn pages when using the kindle app without having to swipe.

I can play games with mappable buttons, or use a game gripper for a better emulator experiance. even playing touch only games, it having the KB open lets me hold the phone so my thumbs are at a more natual angle.

An I can type without looking when i'm driving (Alledgedly) or walking, lol
