New update 7/29

Aside from that 4mb update last week, nothing new here. Just checked about 2min ago.

there have been two. The Gingerbread one, and the one from earlier this week.

I got the minor update. Had tobdo another factory reset. It took away the market and had given my phone a life of its own. But I didn't notice any differences.

My dinc 2 updated itself at 6:38 am on 7/28/11. Don't know why there was one, because I already had gb 2.3, however since this last update, my gmail and texting apps no longer rotate smoothly. It is very annoying. I have the auto-rotate setting turned on. I've removed and reinstalled the battery twice. I do NOT want to do a factory reset. But I want that rotation to work EVERY time I rotate the phone, for whatever reason. It was working.g fine BEFORE the 7/28 update! Any ideas?

There has been only two updates.. GB and one on i believe monday.. you must of gotten it late. My auto rotate is fine. Looks like you gotta factory reset. Factory resets aren't that bad. I only hate it because it resets my angry bird games and gotta log into all my apps again lol

Latest gb update affected my auto-rotate

At the risk of sounding awfully naive, I must ask: How exactly do I do a factory reset? And doesn't that mean that I then have to re-customize all my settings and notifications and wallpaper and re-upload all my apps? I have everything set just right now! I'm just annoyed that my auto-rotate is somehow messed up, through no fault of my own, and now I have to possibly spend a couple of hours resetting just to fix that!

Yes it resets all your settings as well as deletes your apps meaning you will have to redownload and set them up again. It shouldn't be hard to get everything back.. try to remember everything.

to do the factory reset:
Go to Settings > SD & Storage > Factory Reset. It also asks you to reformat your sd card which isn't needed so you can just press no when it asks you.

Gingerbread update disable Market

Hard to believe the Gingerbread update mess up with the Market and now the Market would no longer works. I also don't link the update merge my Gmail and my Exchange mail to one location, I would like to keep them separate...after reading the forum, I guess I need to run a factory reset in order for the Market to function....

or turn off the device. Hold the volume down button and keep it held down while pressing the power button, keep holding both down till you see the skateboarding androids(thats the way i remember) and volume down to factory reset. Its a lot harder, i like to think of myself more of a tech guy doing it that way :):greendroid:

I hold down the volume down button, then hold down the power button while still holding down the volume botton and it just boots normally. What am I doing wrong.

EDIT: nevermind

no it worked, I was just trying something that kept it from going into the boot loader.
