new update issue- dead space on screen

Hello all. I've never been on here before so bare with me.

I had the phone do an auto update yesterday and now I have dead space on my screen. I can view everything on the screen but can't touch it. Its basically between the back button & search button and flows all the way to the top. I have to rotate the phone when typing because I can no long touch the "o" "k" "m" or "12#" buttons. An god forbid if I try to click on a link that is on this dead space.

Is there a way to fix this?

I also have a dead space on my HTC TB. I have MR4, but wondering if that is why there is dead space. Any ideas?
