The WeatherBug app has to be one of the most popular weather apps for Android. Lots of popular apps have been getting updates to match the Holo theming of Android. WeatherBug just received an update. The update brings a fresh User Interface featuring live tiles and background themes. Everything is now controlled by swipes and gestures. There is a social aspect in the Photos section where you can view other people's photos of your local area. The update includes plenty of other features, too many to list.

Thanks CJM for the tip

I'm really enjoying the update.
As well as changing the look the load time has sped up on my phone as well by quite a bit

The only thing I don't like about the update is the radar. If you put it in motion, it seems real glitchy. But overall, this update makes the Weather Bug app much, much better than before.

Good looking app but I don't need a dedicated weather app other than the one on my clock since I live in the beautiful bay area, California where it's always nice. :cool-b:

...wonder how long before amazon updates their version of the app?
i use weatherbug all the time but i have the paid verson from the amazon app store (it was part of the deal when buying my gnex from amazon)

I used to use weather bug all the time but it drainned my battery to fast
i just checked and weather bug only used about 0.4% of battery vs the phone process using 1.1%, the home app using 1.7%, maps using 2.2%
it doesnt look like its much of a battery hog now?

Good to hear, I might start using it again.

Check your refresh settings and make sure live weather updates in the status bar is off. Also using network based location helped with my battery life as well

Don't hold your breath, amazon's free apps of the day are always outdated.
