New User, today is my first day.

Okay, so I normally don't use forums, but I currently am using a LG Optimus Logic, and just had a few questions. I've been doing a lot of reading up on rooting, and would like to know how to do this, but I have never done it before so I dont want to risk damaging my phone. Can anyone assist or help? This will be my question # 1
