New Verizon update - how to turn it off

I recently saw an icon which says that an update is available to the phone software. It keeps showing a pop-up every few minutes.

If I don't want to update the phone yet, how can I erase the update icon and prevent these pop-ups from showing up every few minutes. I didn't see any options to not update and the pop up icons are very distracting.

Short answer is no. You can't disable it without being rooted.

These updates seem to always have a few bugs and cause some apps to stop working. I usually wait for a major OS update - thanks for looking into this

The only way to disable the notification is to be rooted and use an app such as TitaniumBackup.

Can you please tell me how to turn this off using titanium backup?

Actually the last update helped with a problems with using a car charger so it was a good thing.
