The following news sounds like something out of a "heist/caper" movie, but with a much weaker payout. The entire shipment of Xperia Play phones that was heading for Vodafone in New Zealand was stolen! New Zealand may be a small nation, but it still seems amazing that an entire country's shipment of "Playstation phones" was stolen.

It kinda makes you scratch your head... I would think, that once you try to activate these phones, their internal ID's would make it easy to track down, so why would anyone want to steal them?

You would think... But they could be activated on one of China's telecoms since their biggest is state-run.

It was an intricate plot ran by Sega, in attempts to thwart the Sony phone, as they are almost ready to release their Sega Genesis cellphone.

To sell them to people that don't know they're stolen.

Almost sounds like some weird publicity stunt, kind of like the iPhone 4 being accidentally left at a bar.

Sounds like sony is having all sorts of security problems. First play station network and then there phones whats next someone going to go to the manufacturing plant and take all their merchandise.

Man who would do something like this.....

In totally unrelated news I have a ton of Xperia Play's for sale if anyone is interested!:icon_eek:

lol...yea I just read this this morning.

Well played by them. I think alot of ppl believed it. Some did call it for being a publicity stunt tho.
