Well is there anything you want it to do? Did you get a data plan for it or are you just running it off of WiFi?

ROMs are just a further way of customizing ur phone. need root to do that though

Rooting is giving yourself administrative rights to change things you otherwise wouldn't be able to. A rom is like a different framework or system essentially.

I won't do anything but root a phone when I get it now and once upon a time I as well asked 'what does it mean to root'.

Spend a few days, maybe weeks looking up information on it and you'll be good.
