Newbie needing help, much appreciated.

Hey guys,
So i recently updated my xperia x10 to version 2.1
But now im starting to see theres 2.2 and even 2.3???
How do i get that? Is it available on my xperia? When will it be available?
Im not being able to find it, im updating my phone and it keeps saying i have the latest one.

I don't know much about Sony phones and how quickly they release OS updates. Some manufacturers are better than others with this.

Oh right; so it depends on the manafacturers? it doesnt depend on how new your phone is?
