I have the NFL Mobile app on my Moto Driod and all appears well. Streaming video and all.

Everything I read says that it requires a $10 per month v-cast subscription but as far as I know that service isnt even available for the moto droid.

So .... what gives? Is a $10 per month charge just gonna show up on next months bill or does the moto droid sidestep this v-cast requirement?

I have the same question I was not prompted after the latest app update and do not want to pay, but the streaming is working.

Yeah same here, people in the app comments said that they uninstalled it because they were scared of getting a 10$ V-Cast charge,i tried it for one day and streamed like 1 min of video then uninstalled it,not sure if i got charged or not.

the $10/month charge is only to watch live games (thursday night and sunday night) the app is of course free and so is news video

I've watched live games and haven't paid... I wonder if I will when nfl regular season starts. Maybe the $10 fee is only for feature phone users and doesn't apply with the smartphone package.

yea sorry i forgot to add that. its for when regular reason starts

I was getting the stream for free but updated the app when it asked (or maybe I checked auto updating) then I got the dreaded message that I would need to upgrade to vcast to stream content. This blows. I hate verizon for getting me to want the nfo on my phone and then taking it away.

Well I remember seeing that if you downloaded the app before a certain date then you would not need vcast bec originally they promised live streaming to be free for this whole season, but i have switched phones and even now on my droid I have data reseted multiple times, so unless this is tracked by our gmail address I dont know how it worked. Can someone confirm that there is a prompt that you need vcast in order to use continue seeing video feeds, bec if you do maybe I will be able to use it for free.

I would say just use it, if all goes to worse they charge you 10 dollars, you call VZW and cancelled.

Another thing maybe call 611 on your phone and get it right from them whether charged or not since I have heard nothing but mixed answers

Decided to go straight to the horses mouth .... called Verizon.

Was basically told that v-cast wasnt an available option for the driod and that I will not be billed the additional $10 per month to watch the streaming content of the NFL Mobile application.

I am sure that is subject to change at any time Verizon feels like it ...... but that is what I was told 5 minutes ago from a Verizon rep.

Really? Yeah I have no faith in Verizon's word but i downloaded the app, went to play video and it didnt give me anything saying I need vcast. THe little Vcast loading symbol popped up and then i had video. I was scared that just because i played video for literally 5 seconds theyd slam me with the $10 a month charge
