No Custom Dictionary?

Loving this phone so far, but my one complaint is that there doesn't seem to be a custom dictionary. When I type i it doesn't seem to want to capitalize it for me, it also doesnt auto-correct doesnt to doesn't

Did you turn on the options under Samsung keyboard in language and input?

I did, I downloaded the Google keyboard and am using that instead
