No network sometimes after Dec.16th update.

After the new ota version .748 my phone sometimes wont pick a network after calls. I have to toggle into airplane. Anyone having this issues or suggestions i already got a new sim card. So that's ruled out.

Mine has been acting very strange after the upgrade also....only when using the phone.
I've just noticed that when using the phone, it is not using 4g or 3g service. I'm really confused.

I have had this issue as well...I had no data drops prior to the update and now it happens at least daily...

~to powerful to fall into the wrong hands~

I just got off the phone with Verizon customer service. He told me many people have had problems since the last software update (mine was on Dec. 23).....I had to do a factory reset to correct the problem. Hopefully this works.

Don't do it! I did there same thing per tech support. It doesn't matter. Same problem. Got a new razr, it was great until it pushed the same update. I am 100% convinced it was that update to version .948. The new phone was fine before I took the update. I took the update because it was nagging me every 30 minutes to do so. after that my same problem started all over again. no data conectivity, the phone gets confused when going in and out of 3g and 4 g.

same error for me with my razr, got a new one, pushed me the .948 update and now new phone doing the same thing original razr did after same update. I am convinced it is the update and I still have time to return this phone to try something else. Wish I knew what that was.

Too late...I already did the reset. You're right....I am still noticing the same problems.
They are trying to tell me it's my phone but the phone was perfect until the upgrade!

They need to do something to correct this.

My company has a corporate account so I spoke with our account manager. She had me on hold for a while then came back and told me it's a known issue with the RAZRs but suggested I try a new one to see if any better. Got the new one this week, first day it was awesome, just like it was when I got the first one. The next morning I woke up telling me to update, at some point in the day I took the update because it kept nagging me to do so. I figured I have to take it sometime so I may as well take it while I still have time to return it. The day I took the update the same issues started all over. So, there is no doubt in my mind it's the update. The phone goes from rev .944 to .948 and then the troubles begin. The question is, do we live with it or return it for another model. I have been on the Nexus forums and while they have their share of problems, I don't see this issue. Now I am seeing a RAZR MAXX coming out, looks like the same thing with a thicker battery, I have to imagine it has the same problem.

I am going to reach out to the account rep again Monday and ask her if she can find anything out about the timing of the fix. If I learn anything, I will post it. I just loved this phone until the update came along.

Good luck to you.

So did I....best phone I've ever had. I really hope they can find a fix.

Sorry, I said update was .948 it's .748. I just found a place on the motorola site and posted the question right to them, I will let you know if they respond:

Hello:
The phone out of the box was great, then it pushed an update to system version 6.11.748xt912. Since then I am losing constant voice and data connectivity. This is my second RAZR and the same issue has happened with both phones. The RAZR forums are buzzing with this complaint. Verizon says it's a known Motorola issue. Can you confirm this is an issue you know about and can you tell me how quickly you will have a fix? I am trying to decide if I am going to move to another 4g phone model because of this. This phone has become nearly unusable once I go in an out of 4g territory. It won't let me make phone calls, use the speech to text function or use any data.
The phone was fine before th .748 update was pushed OTA. Please advise as to what Motorola is doing to correct the issue and when we can expect the fix. Thank you.

Thanks that was a big helping. Now i know im not alone.

I just got off the phone with Motorola. According to the technical person there, the data loss is a known issue and he is telling me 4.0 OS (ICS) will be pushed out by the end of January and that will solve these 3g/4g issues. I don't know, somehow I just didn't believe him. But that's the latest info I have and it came from Motorola.

Well....lets hope it does.

I guess we're just supposed to deal with it until then?
I just finished setting my phone back up the way I had it before the reset.
I really hope I will not have to do that again.
