noob needs help

Hello,
i'm new to this forum
I just got 2 new droids and my wife got hers wet!!!
When I turn it on, a completely white screen pops on, not even the Moto logo. Buttons don't work, and the only way to turn the phone off is to remove the battery, Is the phone completely gone now? Can I somehow get it to work ever again?
