noob question...thinking about getting a nexus

I am thinking of getting the galaxy nexus but when i go to order it i am told to get a 4g plan.
So do i HAVE TO have 4g on this phone, not just 3g
I have verizon.

Yes. There is no price difference and if you're unlimited on 3g, you'll be grandfathered to an unlimited 4g plan as well. IF you don't have 4g in your area the phone can run in 3g mode.

A 4G plan is the same as a 3G plan. A 4G phone will pick up either 4G or 3G. You don't have to be in a 4G area to use the nexus.
