Nostalgia Tuesday: Samsung Galaxy S7 Compared to OG HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1

Wow! We've come a long way in 8 years. Here's a cool video we found of a vlogger comparing the brand spankin' new Samsung Galaxy S7 to the very first Android phone, the HTC Dream, aka the T-Mobile G1. It's obvious there would be massive differences between these two devices, but it's really hilarious to see how stark they really are.

The G1 had the following specs:
  • 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A
  • 192MB Ram (please note - that's Mega, not Giga)
  • 256MB Storage (that's also Mega, not Giga)
  • 3.2-inch 320 x 480 resolution display
  • 1150mAh battery
  • Android 1.0
Compared to the Galaxy S7:
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 (Up to 2.15GHz for some cores)
  • 4GB RAM
  • 32GB Storage (minimum)
  • 5.1-inch Quad HD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) Display
  • 3,000mAh Batter
  • Android 6.0.1
It's worth repeating... We certainly have come a long way in 8 years! Enjoy the video in the thread below.

Ah, the good ol' days.

I remember the first significant update I got on my G-1. It added an on-screen keyboard and video capabilities to the camera. Prior to that, you could only take still pictures.

Crazy to see how far we've come, but funny that that significantly larger battery doesn't really last any longer...
