Notepad and voice mail & In line email pictures

Two questions/problems.
1. I would like to take notes while I'm listening to voice mail but have not been able to find a way to do so. Whenever I go to notes the voice mail stops.
2. When I receive an e-mail with an in line picture (part of the e-mail) it's not there. Are there any settings that will correct this?

1. Download Google voice. It transcribes your voicemails and even sends it as a text message if you like.

2. Go to settings and set download limit to no limit.
