During charging on the dock, the x2 gives a notification sound every hour or two for no reason. I tried turning off several apps, but, the only way to quiet it down is to turn down the media volume. Any suggestions?

Try this:
Settings > Sound > Battery Full Notification (uncheck)

Been there, done that - still hear DROIIID while charging.

When my X2 wouldn't stop doing this, I finally dumped a log and found that every so often processes were being killed, including the clock and dock apps. Then they were restarted, which caused them to make the "phone has been docked" notification sound again.

This happened when I first bought the phone and it was pretty much stock. I've since rooted and applied the memory management changes and it still does it. I've given up on being able to use the dock and now I just plug it in directly at night.

Maddening.

Edit: Forgot to mention that you can use something like AddinTimer to turn off all notification sounds during night hours and that's one kludge for the problem.

Wow, I had this problem but the first suggestion fixed it.
Kinda used to the dock now.

This has also happen to me a few times. It is really annoying. But I've just now turned off the Full battery Notification sound and hopefully it will work.

I was just getting on the forum today to find out how to fix this...mine phone did this all night last night. Kept making notification sounds like i was docking the phone over and over and kept killing my desktop app...I've been using nightstand bold because it silences notifications but it doesn't work anymore, I'm having fits because everytime if wakes my wife up with the notifications, I have no idea how to fix this, and it drives me nuts

I believe that Extended Controls widget has a alarm manager button.
You can silence alarms or notifications or both. Seems to work OK.
