notification volume

Can someone please help me figure out how to make my notification volume adjust with my ringer volume? Even if my ringer volume is down, the notification sound is loud. If I go into settings and adjust notification sound to be lower, and my ringer volume is up, my notification sound is still lower. I know there is a way to have my notification volume adjust with my ringer volume. I just can't figure it out. It use to be that way, but I had to have my phone restore to factory settings and now I can't figure it out. Please help!

Maybe somebody can help me out with this 1.
before update the notification volume would adjust with the master volume allowing me to turn down the notification volume without going into the volume settings to make adjustments.
Now the only way I can adjust notification volume is in the volume settings.
Is this a specific problem to my phone? If not, is there a short cut around this to allow me to adjust volume without going into settings?

No not a problem with your phone.
This is the way it is in ICS.
Hopefully it will get changed back in an update later.
