notifications that wont shut up!!

I love the Droid X. i dont have much bad to say abt it. btwn talking to the Droid team at verizon 1 800 734 5870 and the developers of some apps i am pretty confident that this phone can and will do anything my blackberry/itouch combo did. now here is my one gripe-while im playing music on my media player all my notifications keep sounding off. is there a way to tweak this? i use the airplane function but that disables all my communication. i would like to be able to txt and surf while i listen to tunes. anyone have any suggestions on this?

As of right now you cant. they have fixed that problem with 2.2 (Froyo)

also for now try turning your phone onto vibrate. that stopped all the notifications form popping up and pausing my music.
