Solved Nova launcher showing up as app

Hey all, in getting my turbo 2 set up I got Nova launcher prime all set up again. When I go to the close app screen Nova launcher pops up as an app I can close. (see screenshot)
Is there a way to stop this from happening? I dont recall it happening on my turbo 1. If I do close it I go to a blank screen for a moment, then my apps pop back up, presumably as the launcher reopens.

Any tips would be helpful! Thanks.
