Now that the Resound has S-off...?

A stock ICS rezound would be pretty nice, but I am still loving my nexus

Oh and first post with my new Galaxy Tab 7 plus

Hard to tell. I'll wait til ICS makes it's way to the Rezound before I pass judgement

I think it's unlikely since most devs have already been working on ICS with the Nexus for a few weeks, they're likely to stick with the work they've already put in. Definitely doesn't hurt the Rezound's chances at an advance look at ICS though.

When did the Rezound get S-off? I know the bootloader was unlocked, but thought it still didn't have S-off. That was the final piece.

I through it was the same thing?

I don't fully understand, but what I've garnered from some research is you with S-On (which the Rezound still has, even with the bootloader unlocked) you could lose root on an update. S-On restricts access to /system, nand flash memory and the kernel. In other words, it won't allow flashing of unsigned system images to memory.

So don't believe it gives nearly the unrestricted freedom you (and I) may be familiar with on the D1 or Nexus. I don't totally understand the implications for roms, but suspect this will prevent an ICS rom in the near/immediate future.

I think other HTC phones got S-off, but apparently they've cranked up the security for it on the Rezound.
