numeric page?

very new to the LG Vortex. I have had the phone for a week. I used to be able to recieve calls, but now everyone tells me that my phone doesnt ring, and it takes them to a message saying "leave a numeric page". i tried talking to a verizon store rep, but she said i mustve set it up thatway...really dont think i did. how do i disable this?
