When you get it. Post it here. Don't forget to let us know your thoughts about the S7... S7E

The pain. Received our VZW S7'so yesterday from Best Buy. Lost my unlimited data. I asked at least 10 times each when pre-order and during pickup. Does this affect my unlimited data? I was assured every time my unlimited data remained intact. Yesterday afternoon I received an automated response from Verizon I was over my data cap. Off to Best buy. Best buy has the "old computer system". Not entirely compatible with the new Verizon system. By this morning(Tuesday) the system would flow thru. Unlimited data would be back.

It's not back. Called 611. Per vzw, what best buy tried is outside their ability. Have to go back to Best buy again. Cancel the whole thing. Go to corporate Verizon store on Friday for upgrade. Best Buy is a major time suck. I now remember why I rarely go there. If this doesn't get straightened out the Project Fi looks very tempting. I know two people locally that are very happy with their current Fi and the cost.

S7 camera is really good. The S7 zoom absolutely crushes my S5. The S7 screen is really good. I normally watch Youtube at 720p for network issues. Even at 720p the S7 screen is so much better than my S5.

Am seeing some stutter and lag which surprises me.
Can't comment on battery yet but Android system is eating up a lot.
Fingerprint scanner and charging is not as fast as Nexus 6P though S7 does have a bigger battery which may add time but...
Camera is wonderful especially in low light but official benchmarks remain to be seen.
Root will probably be nonexistent for the VZW model.
Not all apps can be transferred to external SD card.
Screen is gorgeous.
Sound quality could be better and is weak.
Call quality is decent: a few people said I sounded as if on speakerphone though I wasn't and quality has a slight muffle effect and not as bright and crisp.
Touchwiz is improved and not as obnoxious but always had a love/hate relationship with it.
Will see if this is a keeper.

I failed to mention the S7 Bluetooth problem. In my truck I normally connect my S5 to a Kinivio 450 (Bt to aux). Work dumbphone to a Plantronics headset. When watching Youtube on the S7 using the Kinivio, the S7 would switch to the Plantronics as soon as it turned on. The S7 seemed to be trying to maintain two separate Bluetooth connections. My S5 never tried to switch audio while watching a video.

My S7 had issues with the DroidLife website. It was laggy.

Any device can see lag on a website, (especially a new device) that's not necessarily related to the S7. Could have been poor connection, high website traffic etc. Give the device a few days to build up the various cache files, the majority of your website lag should go away.

S5 tap'n

Can you elaborate please? What apps are you seeing this?

S5 tap'n
Web browsing, some scrolling, many large apps, and try opening a .pdf or document: it hangs for a bit vs some of my other phones like nexus 6P. Though the phone is very fast am surprised but then again it's probably the age old TouchWiz Albatross.

Had mine (regular S7) a couple of days and absolutely love it. It's definitely the fastest Galaxy to date.
  • Haven't had any BT issues but I'm not trying to pair two things at once either.
  • As far as stutter/lag - I can't recall seeing any, but even if there is the occasional stutter or lag, the overall experience is still quite a bit faster than prior Galaxy's.
  • Battery life is workable now (vs. the S6). It's no Turbo, but it's a definite improvement over the S6. I'm sure the S6 will improve a bit on Marshmallow as well.
So far it's my favorite Android device to date. It's like a slightly souped up S6 with more pragmatism added into it (water proof / better battery).

My one uncertainty right now is the camera. Keep in mind, this is comparing to the camera in the S6, so this is kind of like saying "I don't like this one part of the 2016 BMW 7 Series vs the same part in the 2015 BMW 7 Series". So the camera is still top-notch. But I think at times it's focusing on the wrong things in pictures, b/c at times when you zoom in a bit, it's simply not sharp where it should be - and I'm not talking about just the lower megapixels either. It's clearly a focus thing. That's being pretty nitpicky though!

Still haven't had a chance to play with the new Gear VR.

I got mine Monday and have been playing around all week. Very impressive phone. Quick charging is sweet. Screen is excellent. Camera is fantastic. No complaints so far.

The best part was I got the gear VR since I preordered from Best Buy. I absolutely love it.
