Droid X Gingerbread 2.3.3 (4.5.595) Thread Updated 05/06/2011
The upgrade path does not include those who are on Gingerbread .573/.588/.591 - Make Sure You Read Below.

The build that has been approved for release by Verizon is Blur (4.5.596) this is not build 4..5.596 but is the build tha is needed so you can upgrade via ota without needing to sbf back to 2.3.340.

UPGRADE PATH
The first method to upgrade to gingerbread from froyo is to sbf you phone back to stock froyo (2.3.340) and await for the upgrade.

The second method involves getting yourself on the proper build so you can receive the offical OTA once it is pushed. You can upgrade to the official OTA if you are running Blur build 4.5.595.

So to get all of you on the proper build and the proper upgrade path you have been provided with the proper blur build 4.5.595. So in the application you are going to find 3 different builds, a fully deodexed build, a fully odexed build, and a stock odexed build (no root, nothing there at al) <----- you will want to flash this one in preparation for the official release build.

DIRECTIONS
Dowload the zip
Reboot phone into Clockwork Recovery
Install the Zip file.

Awesome! So glad I didnt jump the gun and stuck with liberty. Thanks!

So if I back up everything with titanium will I get that stuff back of will I have to start from scratch? Also, is it really worth it....I currently have Rubix 2.0.1 on my DX and it is so smooth and fast. I have not had one force close yet.

Yes, just make a backup and then you can recover it.

Trust me, you wouldn't want to go back even if you have a slight speed decrease.

This is an upgrade we have been begging to get after all.

Will somebody please post a deodexed copy of app/framework???

How is this? Better then Custom Rom?

Well gb is much much faster than froyo. So any future roms based on gb are going to be amazing. Also this is a leaked version. Gives you a chance to try out a stock rom that is extremely fast. Many like myself, like blur. I was running blur roms, now I don't have to. Obviously if you hate blur and prefer AOSP, then GB isn't for you.

Basically, any future rom based on gb will blow away anything out there based off 2.340 That's whygb is such a big deal. :icon_ banana:

Hey guys,
Second noob mistake. I've flashed GB (rooted) onto my D2, played with it for a while and tried to flash back to Liberty 1.5 and ..... I'm stuck on the Motorola Boot logo. I don't know how to flash a SBF. I tried looking on the forum but it seems everything is for the DX. I still can get into CW and I can see my backups but when I try to load them (screen says success), I end up back at the Moto logo. Can anyone help? Again, I only know enough to get myself in trouble.

try wiping data. if that doesn't work you'll have to sbf. there should be a sticky in the Droid 2 hacks forum about sbfs

Sent from my DROIDX using DroidForums

The process of using sbf is I think exactly the same on each phone the way I learned how to do it was watching a youtube video of someone doing it on the moto DROID and I have a dx u just need the right file and rsd lite 4.8 im sure there is a sticky on the d2 forum where u can get that stuff

Go to youtube and search for d2 sbf, there are countless articles all over the net, just search it. You cannot restore any backups after flashing GB, your phone now has a whole new system on it 2.3.3. Your backups are based on 2.2.1 SBf back to stock is the only to get back to 2.2.1

Also, this is a droid x forum. So I suggest you go to a D2 forum, I'm sure you'll get better help there.
