There are tons of great apps out there and it depends on what you are looking to do. Something I download would be a messaging app like Handcent or Go SMS Pro. Never really cared for the native SMS app and love the customization those 2 have.

Welcome. There are several hundred thousand apps for Android, just poke around the market til ya find some good ones. I use Pandora, Dropbox, Angry Birds, Cloudskipper, Soundhound, and Plume often
